Leader Elaborates on Plots to Hinder Iran's Development

The Leader said that the United States and the Zionist regime are a united front that is constantly plotting against the Islamic Republic of Iran with all its might.

This has been going on ever since the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The animosities have manifested themselves in the forms of military interference, specifically the 1980-1988 Iraqi imposed war, and in efforts to prevent the country from achieving progress and development.

However, it is now clear that the plots against the Islamic Republic are entering a new phase which includes psychological warfare waged against the country on a global level and attempts at creating an atmosphere meant to attack the Islamic system from within.

The Leader said the plots are being hatched in response to the Islamic awakening experienced by Muslims all over the world, which was inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and because the U.S. wants to counter the effects of losing Iran as its former base for influencing and dominating regional countries. Ayatollah Khamenei stated that these are the two main factors behind the animosity of the U.S. and the Zionist regime toward Iran.

It is clear that Iran’s progress and development and the fact that it is regarded as an influential model for oppressed people all over the world has made it the target of the arrogant powers.

However, Iran’s enemies have not learned the lesson of their previous meddling in the country's affairs. They still wrongly believe that through threats, intimidation, psychological warfare, and trying to turn the Islamic system away from its revolutionary ideals they will be able to achieve their goals.
